Harding Evans, in partnership with the LGBTQ+ Law Clinic CIC and LawWorks are proud to announce the launch of a new in-person pro bono clinic, providing family advice to members of the LGBTQ+ Community.
The first clinic took place at Harding Evans’ Cardiff office on 7th November and will take place on a bi-monthly basis going forward, with pro-bono advice being offered to those who need it by the firm’s Family & Matrimonial solicitors.
Speaking at the launch of the clinic, Hussein Said from LGBTQ+ Law Clinic CIC, said “'We are incredibly proud to be collaborating with Harding Evans to provide one of the only free legal in-person clinics for LGBTQ+ individuals in the UK. Those who identify as LGBTQ+ have often reported to us that they have considerable difficulty in finding legal advice that understands their particular context, and one that is open and accepting in its approach.”
“We hope this can be a further step in providing vital and often unattainable legal support to the LGBTQ+ community.”
Leah Thomas, Head of Family Law at Harding Evans, added “as a team, we are extremely proud to be able to be able to put our knowledge and expertise to good use in order to provide the community with access to justice, especially in such specialist areas as fertility.”
“As a firm, Harding Evans have been engaging with the LGBTQ+ community for a while now through our involvement with both Pride Cymru and Pride In The Port. We are really excited to be able to cement our commitment to the community by working with LGBTQ+ Law Clinic CIC to launch this much-needed in-person pro-bono clinic.”
