About Us

Established in 2021, The LGBTQ+ Law Clinic, is one of the only services in the United Kingdom that provides free legal advice to the LGBTQ+ community. With help from volunteer lawyers and law firms, we are able to provide many of the most vulnerable in society with qualified and professional legal advice and representation.

We are committed to fighting for the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals and ending discrimination based upon sexuality, gender identity and expression through public education, direct legal services and broader public policy efforts.

We strive to not only provide advice, but to be a platform where LGBTQ+ lawyers can advise those from within their own community, as well as allow our group of LGBTQ+ volunteers to obtain experience in a variety of areas and become the lawyers of tomorrow.

Immigration

We offer advice on all aspects of personal immigration, including asylum and human rights claims on the basis of sexuality and/or gender identity.

Employment

We offer advice on all aspects of employment law, including dismissals, discrimination, and harassment.

Housing

We offer advice on all aspects of housing law, including tenancy rights, discrimination, and homelessness.

“The service was amazing, quick, and professional. Everyone involved was friendly and supportive. I was not even fully aware I had been discriminated against in the first place, but everything was made clear to me. There is such little awareness and understanding of LGBTQ+ law, so I think the clinic is such an excellent idea and just at the right time with how difficult things are, especially for trans people.”
